BELLEVILLE – Two Napanee women have been charged with theft after stealing from Shoppers Drug Mart.
The suspects were seen taking products from the store and then setting off the security alarm, which prompted an employee to call the OPP.
The event happened on Friday around 5:30 p.m..
Police say the store provided a description of the two women, which helped OPP find the suspects at a nearby location. Three bottles of perfume were confiscated.
A 37-year-old and a 21-year-old are both charged with theft under $5000. The younger woman also faces charges of failing to comply with a probation order.
In addition, the older woman is charged with two more counts of theft under $5000. Police say these charges are coming from previous investigations where several bottles of liquor were stolen from LCBO on Jan. 30 and Feb. 3.
The two women were released on a Promise to Appear. They will go to Provincial Court in Napanee on March 29.
