Keep an eye out for fraud in March
BELLEVILLE – March is Fraud Prevention Month across Canada.
The Competition Bureau of Canada and 125 law-enforcement agencies across the country are joining forces to spread awareness of fraud prevention.
This year’s Fraud Prevention Month will focus on five main topics:
- Emergency/Canada Revenue Agency scams
- The romance scam
- Microsoft/computer scams
- Phishing/bank website scams
- Lottery scams.
The competition bureau has a list of tips on how to avoid being scammed.
