QUINTE WEST – A 45-year-old man is facing domestic-assault charges after an incident on Loyalist Parkway early Tuesday morning.

At around 3:50 a.m., officers from the Quinte West OPP arrived at the scene, where they spoke with the female victim. She told the officers what happened and said the man had left on foot.

The OPP Canine Unit and Emergency Response Team were called to help locate him.

The man was found at a nearby home and was arrested for assault, police said.

The woman was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The man was to appear in court Tuesday for a bail hearing.
