New spacing at Loyalist depends on expansion rate

Student space was one of the hot topics in the recently released Ontario budget. The budget promised 60,000 seats for student expansion in post secondary institutions across the province.
“It will all depend on our growth rate,” said Piercy. “What they are doing is fully funding growth and we appreciate that, but the disbursement of that money will really depend on individual institutions. It will depend on how we do, and grow in the coming years. Loyalist has grown so we are very optimistic that we will get our share.”
There is room for expansion at the college.
“We do have significant room for expansion, we just added the skills centre and we have an opportunity to add 250 students in those programs, and certainly in other programs we have flexibility to grow,” said Piercy. “We have been growing and we will see where that takes us over the next couple of years.”
