Freezing rain causes cancellations and accidents in Quinte region
By Tara Henley
BELLEVILLE – Multiple collisions and cancellations are being reported in the Quinte region today as freezing rain continues.
Early Tuesday morning, the Ontario Provincial Police announced a single-vehicle collision on Foxboro-Stirling Road near Baptist Church Road. They have since reported that the road has been cleared and the vehicle has been removed. Police also say emergency services were called to a collision on Highway 401 eastbound involving two vehicles near County Road 40 in Trenton. The accident was cleared by the OPP shortly after noon, though as of midafternoon they were still warning residents that driving conditions remained slippery on the highway.
