Loyalist SIFE team Toronto bound for national competition

Loyalist College students in the Free Enterprise team, also known as SIFE, are heading to the national SIFE competition in Toronto.
The team made up of 33 Loyalist members won the regional championship in March to be able to compete in the event being held this Tuesday.
SIFE is a world-wide organization with schools competing in challenges internationally. Teams work on community based challenges that address economical, social and environmental challenges.
The teams give presentations of the work they have completed in the community to a panel of judges at the competitions. The judges then decide the winner.
Bob Millard, Loyalist College’s SIFE team faculty advisor, said being involved is a rewarding experience.
“You watch the students evolve,” said Millard. “They mature greatly from not only from a confidence point of view but they see the types of impact they make in the community.”
He said students can see the measurable skills that they acquire by being involved in SIFE.
