What to buy and How to shop?
For students on a budget, one of the most effective ways to shop is to buy in bulk and stock up on frozen foods.
Registered dieticians are available through Eat-Right Ontario, an organization dedicated to promoting and advertising healthy eating habits.
Here are some clips from one such dietician, referred to as Mary, who has many great tips for students on a budget.
She says no matter what, you need to recognize and consume enough nutrients from each of the four food groups (fruits and vegetables, grains, dairy and meats and alternatives).
The most significant factor is buying in bulk. Most foods are cheaper if you buy them in larger quantities and can store them over a period of time.
